Lancers boys, girls hold lead in Dominion meet.  Powell wins the high jump, long jump for L.C. Bird’s girls team. 

The Manchester girls and boys teams have the lead after first day of the Dominion District outdoor track meet. Day 2 will include mostly track events and will take place tomorrow at Midlothian.

On the girls side, L.C. Bird’s Andrea Powell was a two-time winner, taking the high jump and the long jump. Her high jump of 5-4 was enough to qualify for the state meet.

Manchester’s Justin Simmons dominated the boys shot put, throwing 53-9½ to reach the state level.
